MENACHOS 22 (21 Elul) - Dedicated in memory of Miriam (Teitelbaum) z'l bas Yehudah Aryeh and Brachah.

SUMMARY

1. Rebbi Elazar b'Rebbi Shimon says that the Etzim for the burning of the Korbanos were provided by the Tzibur.

2. Rebbi Elazar ben Shamu'a says that the Etzim for the burning of the Korbanos may not have been used for purposes of a Hedyot.

3. If the Kometz of one Minchah became mixed with the Kometz of another Minchah or with a Minchas Kohanim, Minchas Kohen Mashi'ach, or Minchas Nesachim, it is valid, according to the Tana Kama.

4. According to Rebbi Yehudah, if the Kometz of one Minchah became mixed a Minchas Kohen Mashi'ach or a Minchas Nesachim, it is Pasul, because a Kometz contains less oil than a Minchas Kohen Mashi'ach and Minchas Nesachim.

5. If the blood of a Korban becomes mixed with water, if the mixture has the appearance of blood it is valid. If the blood becomes mixed with wine, it is considered like water.

6. If the blood of a Korban becomes mixed with blood from a different animal, or with blood of a Chayah, it is considered like water, according to the Tana Kama. Rebbi Yehudah says that blood does not nullify blood.

7. According to the Tana Kama, an object that is placed on the Mizbe'ach does not nullify another object that is placed on the Mizbe'ach.

8. Rebbi Yehudah says that if two items of the same type become mixed, they do not nullify each other.

A BIT MORE

1. One who brings a Korban or a Minchah does not provide the Etzim himself. One who brings a Korban must provide the wine for the Nesachim. One who brings a Minchah must provide the Levonah.

2. Utensils used for Etzim must be new, according to Rebbi Elazar ben Shamu'a. Rebbi Elazar b'Rebbi Shimon disagrees and maintains that even used utensils may be used for Etzim on the Mizbe'ach.

3. The Minchas Kohanim, Minchas Kohen Mashi'ach, and Minchas Nesachim are completely burned on the Mizbe'ach. Therefore, since a Kometz is also completely burned on the Mizbe'ach, the entire mixture is placed on the Mizbe'ach and it is valid, according to the Tana Kama.

4. When a Kometz becomes mixed with a Minchas Kohen Mashi'ach or with a Minchas Nesachim, they absorb oil from each other, and the Kometz ends up with too much oil. The Minchas Kohen Mashi'ach or Minchas Nesachim will end up with too little oil, and thus both are Pasul, according to Rebbi Yehudah.

5. If the mixture has the appearance of blood and is given the status of water and not wine, then it may be placed on the Mizbe'ach.

6. According to Rebbi Yehudah, even if the mixture does not have the appearance of blood, if it has the status of water and not wine, it is valid.

7. If the blood of one Korban becomes mixed with the blood of another Korban, even if the blood of one of the Korbanos was the majority, both Korbanos are valid. The mixture is placed on the Mizbe'ach for both Korbanos.

8. Even if one of them is the majority, it does not nullify the other. Therefore, according to Rebbi Yehudah, if the blood of a Korban is mixed with blood of Chulin, even if the blood of Chulin is the majority, the blood of the Korban is not nullified and it may be placed on the Mizbe'ach.
