SUMMARY

1. Rebbi Yosi says that if a Korban of Kodshei Kodashim was slaughtered on top of the Mizbe'ach, it considered as though it was slaughtered in the north of the Azarah and it is valid.
 
2. Rebbi Yosi b'Rebbi Yehudah says that Kodshei Kodashim may be slaughtered on the northern half of the Mizbe'ach, and Kodshim Kalim may be slaughtered even on the southern half of the Mizbe'ach.
 
3. According to Rebbi Yosi b'Rebbi Yehudah, if the northern half of the Mizbe'ach was not built, and Kodshei Kodashim are slaughtered in the place where the Mizbe'ach should be, they are Pasul.
 
4. The Mizbe'ach in the Azarah is called a Mizbe'ach Adamah. Therefore, it must be attached to the ground.
 
5. Premium wood from fig trees was selected for the main bonfire on the Mizbe'ach.
 
6. The second bonfire on the Mizbe'ach is for the purpose of generating coal for the Ketores.
 
7. Enough wood to produce five Se'ah of coal is used for the second bonfire on the Mizbe'ach. On Shabbos, enough wood to produce eight Se'ah of coal is used.
 
8. Rebbi Yosi says that anything taken from the Heichal and placed on the Mizbe'ach in the Azarah must be placed on the part of the Mizbe'ach which is closest to the Heichal.
 
9. Rebbi Yosi agrees that anything taken from the Mizbe'ach in the Azarah and placed in the Heichal must be taken from the part of the Mizbe'ach which is closest to the Heichal.
 
10. Rebbi Yehudah maintains that the Mizbe'ach is situated in the middle of the Azarah, with ten Amos of the Mizbe'ach opposite the entrance of the Heichal, and eleven Amos on both sides of the entrance.

A BIT MORE

1. According to Rebbi Yosi, the entire Mizbe'ach is situated in the north of the Azarah. He says it is "considered as though" it was slaughtered in the north of the Azarah because one may have thought that a Korban must be slaughtered next to the Mizbe'ach but not on the Mizbe'ach itself.
 
2. According to Rebbi Yosi b'Rebbi Yehudah, the entire Mizbe'ach is in the south of the Azarah. A Gezeiras ha'Kasuv states that the northern half of the Mizbe'ach is valid for the Shechitah of Kodshei Kodashim.
 
3. According to Rebbi Yosi Bar Yehudah the entire Mizbe'ach is situated in the south of the Azarah. A Gezeiras ha'Kasuv states that if the Shechitah is done on the northern half of the Mizbe'ach, it is valid. If the Mizbe'ach is not built, an act of Shechitah done in the place where the Mizbe'ach should be is Pasul.
 
4. The Mizbe'ach may not be built on tunnels or arches.
 
5. Wood from fig trees is used for the Mizbe'ach in order to rectify the sin of Adam ha'Rishon. According to one opinion, the Etz ha'Da'as with which Adam ha'Rishon sinned was a fig tree.
 
6. The second bonfire is placed four Amos to the north of the southwestern corner of the Mizbe'ach, so that it is directly in front of the entrance to the Heichal.
 
7. On Shabbos, the two Bazichei Levonah of the Lechem ha'Panim are burned on the second bonfire of the Mizbe'ach, and, therefore, extra wood is needed.
 
8. The two Bazichei Levonah of the Lechem ha'Panim are taken from the Shulchan in the Heichal and placed on the second bonfire of the Mizbe'ach in the Azarah. The second bonfire is situated directly opposite the entrance to the Azarah.
 
9. The coals are taken from the second bonfire of the Mizbe'ach and placed in the Heichal to be used for the daily Ketores. The second bonfire is situated directly opposite the entrance to the Azarah.
 
10. The Mizbe'ach corresponds to the width of the Heichal together with the walls of the Heichal. The Heichal is twenty Amos wide, and its walls six Amos thick.
