SUMMARY

1. According to Rebbi Shimon, a Gezeirah Shavah from Shevu'as ha'Pikadon teaches that Shevu'as ha'Edus applies only to monetary claims.

2. If witnesses swear falsely that they are not aware of testimony regarding land, there is a disagreement about whether they are Chayav a Korban.

3. Rebbi Acha maintains that if a camel is kicking among other camels and one of the camels is found dead, the owner of the kicking camel is liable for payment.

4. One man sees a knife-wielding man enter a building and then exit with blood all over the knife. Inside the building, a man is bleeding to death from a stab wound. Nevertheless, the knife-wielder is exempt from a Chiyuv Misah.

5. If witnesses see from the outside that a person counted money and gave it to his friend, but the recipient denies that he received it, he is proven to be a liar.

6. A person claims that he counted out a Maneh and gave it his friend next to a certain pillar. His friend denies ever passing next to that pillar. If witnesses testify that he urinated next to the pillar, there is a disagreement about whether he is regarded as a liar.

7. According to Rebbi Shimon, a person who intentionally makes a false Shevu'as ha'Pikadon does not bring a Korban.

A BIT MORE

1. The laws of Shevu'as ha'Edus are not derived from Shevu'as Bituy, because Shevu'as ha'Edus has more in common with Shevu'as ha'Pikadon than with Shevu'as Bituy.

2. Rebbi Eliezer maintains that they are Chayav a Korban. Rebbi Akiva maintains that they are exempt. Rebbi Yochanan maintains that even according to Rebbi Eliezer they are exempt from a Korban.

3. Rebbi Acha maintains that a person is obligated to pay on the basis of an approximation. Since it is estimated that the kicking camel is the perpetrator the owner is liable for payment.

4. Rebbi Acha maintains that a person is obligated to pay on the basis of an approximation with regard to a Chiyuv Mamon. Similarly, a person is Chayav Misah on the basis of an approximation.

5. Even though the witnesses are not aware whether the money was given as a loan or a gift, if the giver claims that it was a loan, the recipient is Chayav to pay since he is proven to be a liar. He is not believed with a Shevu'ah.

6. Rav Nachman maintains that he is a proven liar and he is not believed with a Shevu'ah. Rava maintains that he is not a proven liar, because a person does not remember every trivial occurrence.

7. Rebbi Shimon derives through a Gezeirah Shavah from Me'ilah that, for Shevu'as ha'Pikadon, a Korban is brought only if one sinned b'Shogeg.
