SUMMARY

1. According to Rebbi Shimon the goat of the Musafim of Regalim atones for someone who was completely unaware that he ate Kodesh or entered the Mikdash in a state of Tum'ah.

2. Rebbi Meir maintains that the goat of the Musafim of Rosh Chodesh, Yom Tov and Yom Kipur all atone for sins of Tum'ah.

3. Rebbi Meir admits that the goat that is brought inside the Heichal on Yom Kipur is brought for only one transgression and it is the only Korban which protects a person who was aware that he was Tamei prior to the transgression.

4. The month of Tamuz in the second year that the Bnei Yisrael were in the Midbar was a full month of thirty days.

5. Rebbi Shimon ben Yehudah says in the name of Rebbi Shimon, the goat of the Musafim of Rosh Chodesh atones for a Tahor who eats Kodesh Tamei, while the goat of Yom Tov atones also for someone who was unaware that he ate Kodesh or entered the Mikdash. The goat of Yom Kipur also atones for someone who was not aware that he was Tamei but became aware of it after his transgression.

6. Temidim which are not needed by the Tzibur may be redeemed even without a Mum.

7. The Ketores that is left over on Rosh Chodesh Nisan is redeemed on money from the Terumas ha'Lishka which was separated for the wages of the workers who prepare the Ketores.

A BIT MORE

1. According to Rebbi Yehudah, the goat of the Musaf of Rosh Chodesh also atones for one who was completely unaware that he ate Kodesh or entered the Mikdash in a state of Tum'ah.

2. All of the Mo'adim, including Rosh Chodesh, are compared to each other. Consequently, all of the Mo'adim atone equally for one who eats Kodesh or enters the Mikdash in a state of Tum'ah and for a Tahor who eats Kodesh that is Tamei.

3. Rebbi Meir maintains that all of the Mo'adim equally atone for sins of Tum'ah. However, the goat that is brought to the Heichal on Yom Kipur is the only Korban which protects a person who was aware that he was Tamei prior to his transgression. The goat that is brought to the Heichal does not atone for any other transgression.

4. Since Tamuz was a full month of thirty days, and the Meraglim set out on their forty-day journey on the twenty-eighth of Sivan, their return was on the eighth day of Av. The night of the ninth of Av, the Jewish people cried needlessly over the report of the Meraglim. As a result, the ninth of Av was established as a day of crying for generations.

5. However, the opposite is not true. The goat of the Musaf of Yom Tov does not atone for one who initially was aware that he was Tamei. The goat of the Musaf of Rosh Chodesh does not atone for one who was unaware that he ate Kodesh or entered the Mikdash in a state of Tum'ah.

6. There are never less than six Temidim in the Lishkas ha'Temidim that have been checked for Mumim. Once Rosh Chodesh Nisan arrives, the animals which were bought from the money of the Terumas ha'Lishkah of the previous year may no longer be used for Korbanos. The four Temidim which are left in the Lishkah are redeemed and the proceeds are placed in the box for the leftovers of the Terumas ha'Lishkah. The redeemed animals are re-acquired with money from the Terumas Lishkah of the new year.

7. The redeemed Ketores is given to the workers for their wages. Hekdesh re-acquires it from the workers with money from the Terumas Lishkah of the new year.
