SUMMARY

Everyone agrees that one husband may not force his wife to drink a second time for seclusion with the same Bo'el.

Everyone agrees that if a woman drank the Mei Sotah for the first husband, her second husband may force her to drink for seclusion with a different Bo'el.

It is a Machlokes Tana'im if one husband can force his wife to drink a second time for seclusion with a second Bo'el. (1)

It is also a Machlokes Tana'im if a wife may be forced to drink a second time for seclusion with the same Bo'el if she is now married to a second husband. (2)

The husband takes the Minchas Sotah from the wicker basket and places it in a Kli Shares.

After the Minchah is placed in her hand the Kohen places his hand underneath for the Tenufah.

After the Tenufah the Kohen brings the Minchah to the Mizbe'ach and then he does the Kemitzah and is Maktir it on the Mizbe'ach. (3)

The Tana Kama says that the Sotah drinks the water prior to the Minchah offering, but Rebbi Shimon holds that the Minchah offering is first. (4)

The Sotah does the Tenufah together with the Kohen.

The Tenufah of the Chazeh and Shok of a Shelamim is done by the owner of the Korban together with the Kohen.

Rebbi Akiva says that if the Sotah refuses to drink the water after the name of Hashem was erased the Kohanim force her to drink it.

The Megilas Sotah must be completely erased without a trace before the Sotah drinks the water.

If the Megilas Sotah is written prior to the Kabalas Shevu'ah it is Pasul.

Rebbi Akiva holds that if the Sotah looks scared, if she says that she will not drink after the Haktaras ha'Kometz she is forced to drink the water. (5)

A BIT MORE

1. The Tana Kama holds that the husband may force her to drink a second time but Rebbi Yehudah and the Chachamim disagree.

2. The Tana Kama and Rebbi Yehudah hold that the husband may force her to drink a second time but the Chachamim disagree.

3. After the Haktarah of the Kometz the Kohen may eat the remnant of the Minchah.

4. However even according to Rebbi Shimon b'Di'eved if she drinks the water prior to the Minchah offering it is Kosher.

5. However if she is not scared even if she refuses to drink after the Haktaras ha'Kometz she is not forced to drink.

BRIEF INSIGHT

A FUTURE TUM'AH

Everyone agrees that if a woman drank the Mei Sotah and then remarried her second husband may force her to drink for seclusion with a different Bo'el. The Maharit asks according to Rebbi Meir that the Mei Sotah is Bodek her even for a future Tum'ah why would a woman be forced to drink the Mei Sotah a second time? If she is Tamei the first Mei Sotah that she drank would have killed her. The Netziv answers that the Rambam holds that if the husband was Bo'el any forbidden Bi'ah the water is not Bodek the wife. Therefore it is possible that at the time the woman drank for the first time the husband had been Bo'el a forbidden Bi'ah and since then he had done Teshuvah.

QUICK HALACHAH

REFUSING TO DRINK

If the Sotah says that she will not drink prior to the Megilah being erased, the Megilah is put away. The Megilah is not Kosher to be used for another Sotah and the Minchah is scattered over the Beis ha'Deshen. If she says that she will not drink after the Megilah has been erased we force her to drink it. (Rambam Hilchos Sotah 4:4)
