BRIEF INSIGHT
For an eye ailment called Broksi one shall find a scorpion of 7 colors and he shall dry it out in the shade and grind it and mix it with 2/3 eye balm. Tosfos asks that our Gemara gives a cure for Broksi while the Gemara in Bechoros refers to it as a Mum Kavu'a that does not have a cure. Tosfos answers that although it does have a cure it is still referred to as a Mum Kavu'a because anything that does not heal on its own or with a simple treatment is regarded as a Mum Kavu'a. Alternatively Broksi is only treatable in its early stages but in the later stages it is no longer treatable. The Rashash answers that it is untreatable for animals but it is treatable for people just like certain Tereifos are only Tereifos for animals but not for people.
