BRIEF INSIGHT
A REBELLIOUS WOMAN Rav Huna maintains that a woman who rebels in Melachah is not regarded as a Moredes, but Rebbi Yosi bar Chanina disagrees. Tosfos explains that Rav Huna's reason for why a woman is not regarded as a Moredes when she refuses to do Melachah is that he maintains that a woman has the right to tell her husband, "I am forfeiting my right to food and I am keeping my handiwork." In contrast, Rebbi Yosi bar Chanina rules like Reish Lakish, who maintains that a woman does not have the right to tell her husband, "I am forfeiting my right to food and I am keeping my handiwork."
QUICK HALACHAH
A woman who refuses to have marital relations with her husband is regarded as a Moredes. We ask her for the reason why she is acting in this manner, and if she says, "I cannot take him and it is impossible for me to willingly have marital relations with him," then if the husband chooses to divorce her she does not receive her Kesuvah at all. However, if she says, "I want to hurt my husband because he cursed me, or started a fight with me," or she gives any other similar reason, Beis Din sends a message to her, saying that she should know that if she continues rebelling against the husband she will lose her entire Kesuvah, even if it is 100 Maneh. (Shulchan Aruch EH 77:2)
