SUMMARY

1. The Gemara cites two opinions regarding the definition of the Mishnah's phrase "the time a sacrifice is permitted."

2. Rebbi Zeira: The Mishnah does not follow Chizkiyah or Rebbi Yochanan.

3. Rav Yosef defends Rebbi Yochanan from Rebbi Zeira's proof of the Mishnah.

4. The Gemara discusses the law regarding the leftover blood of a sacrifice when sprinkled by unfit Kohen (i.e. a Kohen with a blemish).

5. The Gemara differentiates between an impure Kohen and an unfit Kohen.

A BIT MORE

1. Chizkiyah: It is at the slaughtering of the sacrifice. Rebbi Yochanan: It is after the sprinkling of the blood.

2. Rebbi Zeira tries to prove in various ways that the Mishnah is actually referring to the stage after the blood was received from the slaughtering, but before it is sprinkled.

3. Rav Yosef shows that Rebbi Zeira's proof in our Mishnah is not necessarily accurate, as there is a similar case in Zevachim where the Mishnah is not exact in its terminology.

4. The case refers to a Kohen who sprinkled blood of a sacrifice although he was unfit to do so, while a separate cup of blood from the same sacrifice, was received and sprinkled by a regular Kohen. The question is whether the leftover blood is subject to the same law as blood that was left over when sprinkled by a Kohen.

5. An impure Kohen, who could do the service in a case where everyone was impure, does cause the leftover blood to have a status of leftover blood, as opposed to an unfit Kohen.
