SUMMARY
If someone makes a Neder that his friend may not benefit from him, when he pays a Bikur Cholim visit he may not sit down if the Minhag is to take wages for sitting. (1)
According to an alternative explanation even if the Minhag is not to take wages for sitting it is forbidden to sit while visiting the Choleh because of the concern that he may overstay his visit. (2)
If a person makes a Neder that he will not benefit from his friend, the friend may pay him a Bikur Cholim visit, but not his son. (3)
Ula holds that if he made a Neder not to benefit from his friend the friend may not sit while paying him a Bikur Cholim visit.
Shmuel holds he even may sit while visiting him while paying him a Bikur Cholim visit.
Moshe Rabeinu said, "If Korach falls ill and people come to visit him and he dies on his bed people will say that Hashem Yisbarach did not send me." (4)
Seven things were created prior to the world: Torah, Teshuvah, Gan Eden, Gehinom, the Kisei ha'Kavod, the Beis ha'Mikdash and the name of Mashiach.
A person shall be equally vigilant regarding all of the Mitzvos because we are not aware of the reward of the Mitzvos.
A Gadol is obligated to pay a Bikur Cholim visit to a Katan.
The Mitzvah of Bikur Cholim applies even up to 100 times a day.
If a person who was born in the same Mazal of the Choleh visits him he takes away 1/60 of the pain. (5)
A daughter who is receiving Mezonos from the property of her brother's has the right to 1/10 of the property for her dowry.
A BIT MORE
1. He may visit if he stands because it is a Mitzvah to visit the ill and even though the friend is benefiting from him it is permitted because it is an incidental Hana'ah. However he may not sit while he is visiting because if he forfeits the wages that is due to him for sitting he is benefiting his friend.
2. If he stays a long time during his visit he is certainly entitled to wages for his visit and if he does not take the wages he is benefiting his friend.
3. He only had in mind things that are integral for his own well being not for his son's well being.
4. From here our sages learn out the Mitzvah of Bikur Cholim.
5. Each person who visits the Choleh takes 1/60 of the pain that is left after the previous person's visit.

BRIEF INSIGHT
L'FUM TZA'ARAH AGRAH
A person shall be equally vigilant regarding all of the Mitzvos because we are not aware of the reward of the Mitzvos. This does not mean that a Mitzvah Kalah may be rewarded more than a Mitzvah Chamurah because certainly a Mitzvah Chamurah is rewarded more. However the principle reward for the Mitzvos is not for the actual Mitzvah but rather for the amount of Mesiras Nefesh involved in the performance of the Mitzvah. Our sages teach us that the reward is commiserate with the difficulty in the performance of the Mitzvah. Therefore we should be equally vigilant regarding all of the Mitzvos because a Mitzvah Kalah done with Mesiras Nefesh is rewarded more than a Mitzvah Chamurah without Mesiras Nefesh. (Maharal)
QUICK HALACHAH
BIKUR CHOLIM
It is a Mitzvah to visit the ill. Relatives and friend shall visit him immediately and other people shall visit him after three days. If his illness becomes serious everyone shall visit him immediately. Even a Gadol shall visit a Katan and one must visit even many times a day even if he is the Ben Gilo of the Choleh. The more you visit the better as long as it is not too tiresome for the Choleh. Some say that an enemy may visit a Choleh. However I do not think that this is correct; rather an enemy shall not visit a Choleh or comfort an Avel because of the concern that the Choleh or Avel will think that he is gloating over his distress. (Shulchan Aruch YD 335:1, 2)
