SUMMARY

1. There is a dispute about whether one may use an Esrog of Ma'aser Sheni on Sukos.

2. The Gemara explains the source for the requirement that Matzah must be owned by the person fulfilling the Mitzvah.

3. The Gemara explains why one may not use Todah loaves or Nazir loaves for the Mitzvah of Matzah.

4. The Gemara explains why Todah loaves and Nazir loaves are not excluded from being used for the Mitzvah of Matzah due to the fact that oil is mixed with them.

5. According to Rebbi Yosi ha'Glili, there is another reason why Todah loaves and Nazir loaves may not be used for the Mitzvah of Matzah.

A BIT MORE

1. Rebbi Meir: One may not do so, because it is not considered his, and the verse requires that one own his Esrog: "And you shall take for yourselves." Chachamim: An Esrog of Ma'aser Sheni is considered his own property, and therefore he may use it for the Mitzvah on Sukos.

2. This is derived from a Gezeirah Shavah of "Lechem-Lechem" from Chalah, where one must own the dough in order to be obligated in Chalah.

3. One reason is that the verse states, "And you shall guard the Matzos," implying that only Matzah that is guarded with intent to use it for the Mitzvah of Matzah is valid, but not Matzah that is guarded with intent to be offered as part of a Korban.

4. Since there is only a very small amount per loaf, the loaves do not lose the status of "Lechem Oni."

5. Rebbi Yosi ha'Glili understands that "Lechem Oni" excludes anything eaten with joy, and Korbanos are eaten with joy (and not as "bread of affliction").
