SUMMARY

1. One must wash his hands before praying.

2. There is a dispute about one who says Keri'as Shema inaudibly, without hearing himself say it.

3. The Gemara discusses who may read the Megilah on behalf of others to discharge their obligation.

4. The Gemara cites a proof in the Torah for Techiyas ha'Mesim.

5. One should pause between words in Keri'as Shema where the last letter of the first word is the same as the first letter of the next word.

A BIT MORE

1. One who is on the road and has no water to wash his hands for prayer must continue for a Parsah in order to obtain water. If he knows that he passed a place with water, he only needs to backtrack up to a distance of one Mil.

2. Tana Kama: He fulfills his obligation. Rebbi Yosi: He does not fulfill his obligation.

3. Tana Kama: Everyone may read, except for a deaf-mute, an insane person, and a minor. Rebbi Yehudah: A minor may also read.

4. The verse mentions the grave together with the womb, in order to teach that we should compare them, as they both involve an entrance and exit. Just as one becomes pregnant in private but gives birth in a loud manner, burial that is done with much wailing will end up producing a "birth," Techiyas ha'Mesim, in a loud manner.

5. Gehinom will cool down for whoever pronounces the letters in Keri'as Shema carefully.
