SUMMARY
The Mitzvas Aseh of showing honor to the Torah is more important than the Mitzvas Aseh of judging a Din Torah. The people who checked animals for Mumim in the Beis ha'Mikdash received their wages from the Terumas ha'Lishkah. The Talmidei Chachamim who taught the Kohanim the laws of Shechitah and Kemitzah received their wages from the Terumas ha'Lishkah. The people who amended the Sefarim in Yerushalayim received their wages from the Terumas ha'Lishkah. (1) The women who wove the Paroches and the artisans who made the Lechem ha'Panim and the Ketores received their wages from the Terumas ha'Lishkah. (2) There were 13 Parochos in the second Beis ha'Mikdash: 7 for the gates of the Azarah, and another 6 for the Beis ha'Mikdash itself. (3) Tana Kama: The women who raised their sons for the purpose of the Parah Adumah received wages from the Terumas ha'Lishkah. (4) The Klei Shares used for the service in the Beis ha'Mikdash were made from the money in the Terumas ha'Lishkah. (5) If money was collected for the Bedek ha'Bayis and some of it was left over, it was used to make Klei Shares. (6) The Tamid Shel Shachar was the first Korban brought on the Mizbe'ach every day. The Ketores and the Korbenos Tzibur were bought from the Terumas ha'Lishkah. The wall of Yerushalayim and its towers were paid for with the leftover money of the Lishkah. Rebbi Yishmael: The money left over from the Sheyarei ha'Lishkah was used to buy wine, oil, and flour, and the profits went to Hekdesh. Rebbi Akiva: We may not conduct business for profit with the money of Hekdesh or with money earmarked for the poor. (7)
A BIT MORE
1. It is forbidden to retain in one's possession a Sefer that contains mistakes. When Beis Din realized that the people were lax in fixing the mistakes, they hired people to oversee it. 2. Rav Nachman says that only the women who wove the Paroches for the gates of the Azarah received their wages from the Terumas ha'Lishkah. The women who wove the Paroches for the Beis ha'Mikdash itself received their wages from Bedek ha'Bayis. 3. There was one Paroches for each entrance to the Ulam and the Heichal, two to divide the Heichal and the Kodesh ha'Kodashim, and two more in the Aliyah which correspond to the two that divide the Heichal and the Kodesh ha'Kodashim. 4. Aba Shaul: The rich women in Yerushalayim took care of them. 5. According to Rebbi Yishmael, it was made from the leftover money of the Lishkah. 6. The money was collected with the stipulation of Beis Din that if some of the money is not needed, it will be used for the Klei Shares. 7. Rebbi Akiva disagrees with Rebbi Yishmael who says that we buy wine, oil, and flour with the leftover money of the Sheyarei ha'Lishkah. The reason why we do not profit from Hekdesh is that we do not act poor when it comes to the wealth of Hekdesh. We do not profit with the money of the poor because of the concern that the money will not be liquid and available for a poor person who needs the funds.

BRIEF INSIGHT
KAVOD HA'TORAH The Mitzvas Aseh of displaying honor for the Torah is more important than the Mitzvas Aseh of judging a Din Torah. The Ritva says that if a Talmid Chacham arrives for a Din Torah, even if the judge is already judging another case he must interrupt that case and immediately judge the case of the Talmid Chacham. However, this applies only to the Talmid Chacham himself, but not to his relatives. To honor the relatives of the Chacham is only mid'Rabanan, and thus for the relative of a Talmid Chacham we do not interrupt a Din, but we give him precedence between one Din and another.
QUICK HALACHAH
THE ORDER OF DINIM A judge must give precedence to the litigants that come to him first; however a Talmid Chacham is given precedence even if he arrives at the end. It is also a Mitzvah for the judge to seek out a Zechus for the Talmid Chacham as much as possible. (Shulchan Aruch CM 15:1) The Din to seek out a Zechus for the Talmid Chacham does not apply to the Talmidei Chachamim of our times. (S'ma)
