SUMMARY
1. A stone or wood winepress belonging to a Nochri which is dry must be washed with water first and then dried off with ashes. If it is moist, it must be dried off with ashes first and then washed in water. 2. The Chachamim of Sura say that the disagreement between Rav and Shmuel is that according to Rav, if the winepress is dry, water is applied first and then ashes. According to Shmuel, water is applied for a second time. 3. The Chachamim of Pumbedisa say that the disagreement between Rav and Shmuel is that according to Rav, water is applied first to a dry winepress, then ashes and then water again. According to Shmuel, ashes are applied a second time. 4. If a person wants to purify his wine or olive press from Tum'ah, he must wash the pressing boards, treading basins and palm brooms. It is not necessary to immerse an earthenware utensil purchased from a Nochri.
