SUMMARY
1. There is a disagreement about the length of time the sun stopped for Yehoshua bin Nun. 2. The sun stopped for Moshe at the time of the war with Sichon, and for Nakdimon ben Guryon just as it stopped for Yehoshua. 3. There is a disagreement about which Book of the Torah is called Sefer ha'Yashar. 4. A man may not seclude himself with one or two women. 5. A woman may seclude herself with two men. 6. A woman may seclude herself with a man in the presence of his wife. 7. In the case of a woman who is very prominent, but not nice looking, there is a disagreement about whether she may seclude herself with a Nochri man. 8. If a Yisrael is accompanied by a Nochri on his travels, he should make sure that the Nochri is on his right side. 9. If the Yisrael is walking on an incline, he should make sure that the Nochri is on a lower plane than he. 10. If a Nochri asks a Yisrael where he is traveling to, he should give him a farther destination than he intends to travel.

A BIT MORE
1. According to Rebbi Yehoshua ben Levi, the sun stopped for 12 hours. Rebbi Elazar maintains that it stopped for 24 hours. Rav Shmuel bar Nachmeni maintains that it stopped for 36 hours. According to a second version, Rebbi Yehoshua ben Levi said the sun stopped for 24 hours; Rebbi Elazar said that it stopped for 36 hours; and Rav Shmuel bar Nachmeni said that it stopped for 48 hours. 2. However, the sun stopped longer for Yehoshua than for Moshe and Nakdimon ben Guryon. The hail stones that came down at the time of Yehoshua were unique. This never occurred before or after. 3. According to Rebbi Yochanan, Sefer ha'Yashar refers to Sefer Bereishis, the Sefer of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yakov who were called Yesharim. Rebbi Elazar maintains that it refers to the Sefer of Mishneh Torah where it states, "You shall do the Yashar and Tov." Rav Shmuel bar Nachmeni maintains it refers to Sefer Shoftim where it says, "Each man did what was Yashar in his eyes." 4. Even though there are two women present, and each woman will be embarrassed to be Mezanah because of the presence of the other, there is a concern that both of them will allow themselves to be seduced. 5. However, it is only allowed if the men are Kosher. If they are Perutzim, a woman is forbidden to seclude herself even with ten men. 6. A wife will guard her husband. However, a Nochri wife does not guard her husband. Therefore, seclusion with a Nochri is forbidden even if his wife is present. 7. According to Rebbi Yirmeyah, she may seclude herself with a Nochri because the Nochri will be afraid to kill her because she is prominent. There is no concern that he will force her to have relations because she is not nice looking. According to Rav Idi bar Avin, we are never concerned that a Nochri will kill a woman who secludes herself with him. He will force her to have relations with him instead. This is a concern even if she is not nice looking. Therefore, a woman may never seclude herself with a Nochri. 8. If the Nochri attempts to kill him, he will have the use of his right hand for protection. Rebbi Yochanan ben Berokah maintains that if the Nochri has a sword, the Yisrael should keep him on his right because a sword is carried on the left side. However, if the Nochri is carrying a staff, the Yisrael should keep him to his left because a staff is carried on the right. 9. If they are ascending an incline, the Yisrael should make sure that the Nochri is behind him. If they are on the way down, he should make sure that the Nochri is ahead of him. 10. This is learned from Yakov, who told Esav that he was going to Se'ir when in fact he was going to Sukos.
