FOOTNOTES:
==========
(1) Since the father of the Yesomim appointed her as Apotropos, she is exempt from making a Shevu'ah. This follows the ruling of Aba Shaul, who holds that if we make an Apotropos swear no one will agree to be appointed as an Apotropos and oversee the man's property.
(2) Rebbi Shimon holds like Aba Shaul ben Ima Miryam, that the father cannot exempt his wife from making a Shevu'ah when collecting the Kesuvah from the Yesomim. (See Insights to 88a.)
(3) Rebbi Shimon holds that the woman who becomes an Apotropos for her husband cannot be forced by her husband to make a Shevu'ah.
