The Gemara bava basra 11a says "amru alav al Binyamin hatzadik shehaya memuneh al kupa shel tzedaka". The lashon of Amru alav normally refers to something unusual/unbelievable, which doesn't really apply to his being in charge of the kupa?

Obviosly Amru Alav refers to the continuation -that he personally supported a poor woman and her seven children.
