DAF DISCUSSIONS - MOED KATAN 19

Magid Rafi asked:

I am very grateful to you for learning me. It helps me to learn clearly every morning.

QUESTION: we learn about ABBA SHAUL how he learned that the seventh

day of the "SHIV'AH" is ending even in the "NETZ HAHAMA" (early in the

morning). Why simply c'ant he learn that from the first day which is

also "miktzato kehulo".

The Kollel replies:

Even the Rabanan who argue with Abba Shaul hold Miktzas ha'Yom k'Kulo at the end of the first day, since it is easier to say Miktzas ha'Yom k'Kulo at the end of a unit than at the begining of a unit. (See Rosh Hashana 10a) Abba Shaul's Chidush is that we say it at the beginning of the last day.
